The quad-channel Make Noise Maths is a Eurorack-format function generator module — essentially, an analog computer designed for making music — and it's laid out intuitively from top to bottom with channels one and four in functional near-symmetry.

Make Noise MATHS for Beginners 14 comments Ali Jamieson | 02/11/2016 When I first started out in the world of modular synthesis, I was lucky to have a couple of friends that had dipped their toes into the eurorack world and they helped me out understanding various aspects such as power, cases and signal path.

22 Ways To Use A Make Noise Maths Eurorack Module 1. Audio level control (for example, to reduce eurorack audio levels to line level) 2. A simple voltage generator 3. Mod depth control for external LFOs and envelopes. 4. Signal/waveform inversion 5. An audio mixer 6. Slew for glide/portamendo effects. 7. It has multiple ways to trigger envelopes.

Behringer didn't develop the concept for this module but took over the concept of the Maths module from Tony Rolando of Make Noise. Although the original Math is heavily inspired by classic Buchla modules (257, 281) from the '60s, it is an original design.

MATHS (classic) MATHS builds on the tradition set into motion in the 1960's when Don Buchla adapted circuits found within analog computers for musical purposes. Buchla's Algebraic Processor, Model 257 and 281 changed the way music synthesizers utilize control voltages. MATHS continues this great tradition of sculpting the control signals we use.

On the other hand, Math's envelope shapes crush my poor little Rampage's feelings, and I feel so bad for it, considering how musical Math's envelopes sound, especially in the EXP range.
